Statement on Justice and Human Rights for Black Lives

We have witnessed injustice and prejudice in this country for too long. The systemic racism that has led to the senseless deaths of George Floyd, Michael Brown, Breonna Taylor and many other Black Lives has brought us to the point of anger and despair. We have the power to change the course of history from the past years, decades and centuries, and it is now our time to act and take a stand for Human Rights.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a living and breathing document meant to instill the values of dignity, respect and tolerance amongst humanity. Every single day is a challenge to exemplify these values, but it is our duty as a community to find a way. We have to take the necessary steps to achieve Racial Equity in order to achieve a just and equal World.

It is with this current state that “We the peoples” must take a stand, and stand up for the Human Rights of Black Lives. We need to take time to educate ourselves, reflect and take action to eradicate the systemic injustices that continue to cause so much suffering. Utilizing the Forward Through Ferguson signature priorities and State of Police Reform, and our joint Universal Periodic Review on Human Rights (Race, Gender and Criminal Justice Reform), we can unite for social justice. We can all collectively listen, work together and promote solidarity for the future of humanity.

Black Lives Matter.
