United Nations Association of Saint Louis to Host Event to Commemorate UN’s 74th Anniversary

St. Louis, MO, October 11, 2019 – The United Nations Association of Saint Louis (UNA Saint Louis) will host an event to celebrate the UN’s 74th anniversary on Sunday, October 20th at the International Institute of St. Louis.

Every year in October, the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) and its national network of more than 200 chapters, including UNA Saint Louis, honor UN Day to commemorate the ratification of the UN Charter, and celebrate the organization’s achievements over the last seven decades. This year’s UN Day theme is “Our Planet, Our Future” to recognize the UN’s declaration that the climate crisis is the defining issue of our time. The UN is dedicated to working with global leaders and civil society to develop solutions to combat the climate crisis and work toward a more sustainable future.

This year’s Keynote is by UN Foundation Shot@Life Campaign Manager of National Grassroots Strategy Rebecca Maxie. Featured speakers include Former JCI Secretary General Arrey Obenson, Research Coordinator of HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Program Division of Infectious Diseases at Washington University Kate Curoe, HOSCO Foods Founder Gibron Jones, Director of Social Work at the International Institute Rosie Lang, Director of Learning at Ecochallenge.org Lacy Cagle and others to be announced. Samba Bom will be the featured musical performers.
